It affects our seawater by making it more acidic and causes carbonated ions to be relatively less abundant because our ocean absorbs 30% of CO2 in the atmosphere and when the level of CO2 increases, the CO2 in the ocean also increases which results to a series of chemical reactions that increases the production of hydrogen ions.

Ocean acidification may lead to the destruction of marine life because the increase in the acidity of the seawater makes it harder for corals to build it skeletons which is particularly important beacuse they provide a home for many other sea creatures.
